To Do in Tapola
Boating in Tapola lake is the primary attraction in Tapola. There are three boating clubs in Tapola of which Shivsagar and Vishal boat clubs are a minute away from Hotel Shivneri.
Tapola is now known as a water sports destination and there is lots to do in Tapola apart from boating. Swimming in the lake with life jackets and Kayaking are very popular here.
Mahabaleshwar is just abouty 25 kms from Tapola and is a good option for a day visit if you are staying in Tapola for more than a day. Panchgani is another 20 kms from Mahabaleshwar.
A trip to Kas plateau could be coupled with a trip to Thoseghar waterfalls. The waterfalls, Sajjangad and Kas Plateau would make a good one day trip itinerary during a long holiday.
Mahabaleshwar 25 kms from Tapola, Panchgani and Wai could be a great one day picnic destinations from Tapola. While Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani need no itroduction at Wai you can visit the numerous 'ghats' temples and Dhom dam.
If you are visiting Tapola beween August to November 'Kas Pathar' is a must visit place during your Tapola holidays. Kas Pathar is the valley of flowers of Maharashtra where from August to November the vast plateau turns into a bed of flowers.
Vasota is the most sought after jungle trekking trail in Maharashtra. The jungles of the Koyna sanctuary make unsubstantiated claims of being home to Bengal tigers (>6) apart from Indian leopards, Indian bison and sloth bears amongst other animals.
